recently picked up a completely stock and unmolested 540i6. just been doing maintenance on it. i really don't like the big wheel gap up front and none in the back. the back looks really tucked when i installed a set of e38 m-parallels on the car. 3 finger gap up front and 1 in the back. i do not want to slam or lower the car much. i like the ride height and comfort as it is now. what i want to achieve is lowering the front maybe 1/2 and inch and raising the back 1 inch to give it a little rake while at the same time maintaining the same drive comfort. 1 to 1.25 inch gap all around is ideal. i've looked around for spring/shock and coilover setups. all of them are either too low or too aggressively sprung for me. i've considered using e30 drop hats up front but apparently 540i cant use them. seems like cutting half a coil up front is a big no-no too. as for the back, i've considered eastern european rough road package top mounts to raise the car but they are expensive and hard to come by. any other suggestions?

I would suggest Vogtland springs and bilstein sports. That's what I just put on and I could not be any happier. The Vogtland springs have the perfect drop level and a great spring rate. Not to stiff at all.

Its 40mm drop in the front and 20mm in the back. It has dramatically improved the handling and I feel the ride is not that much harsher than OEM at all. You definitely feel the road more but the progressive spring rates on the vogtland and the bilie sports are great.
