Hi! For some time I was unable to change panel/OBC language. I somehow got used to it and thought that maybe I have some specific german car with only german messages.

Couple of days ago I took my car to workshop and guy who was working here didn't believe it and even was able to change error messages language by taking OBC out and then changing language. He also said something about changed panel/OBC and not coding OBC to work together.

Has anyone seen something similar or knows about how to code my OBC to work with panel? Or should I just get instrument panel together with OBC from one car?

Thanks in advance!

well this happened to a grey market e32 i picked up.
The cluster and obc were displaying in germany and i thought it was cool as hell. Come to find out there is a way to change the language from the cluster buttons (my friend did it for me, i dont know how to do this, but it can be done). french, italian, german, english, you name it.

Well we changed it to english, which also changed the OBC and it was good to go. Changed the OBC with one that wasnt missing pixels and now the OBC was in german and the cluster was in English. Tried to scroll through languages but it did not change them to the same language. The cluster was always one language step behind the OBC. What i ended up having to do was pull the OBC and scroll the cluster back to German. Then put the OBC back in and scroll to English. Basically i had to put them in the same langauge sequence knowing the 'base' language was German.

Cliffs: The language can be changed from the cluster, as well as the OBCas long as the OBC is on the same sequence.

EDIT: quick look, found it

sxracer001, thanks! Took OBC out, played around a bit with language switching and it seems that now I can switch both OBC and cluster settings.:redspot
