Can't read key and car memory

Need help I was trying to read car and key memory on 1995 Bmw 318 today and
get answer from dis v44 something like this: key memory anavalibale
same thing when I read car memory
Im using switchable interface from do it auto.

Inpa works fine with this car.
any help?

Make sure you are using the interface in ADS mode but bear in mind that E36's have no codable modules and your car is a fairly early variant.

car is a canadian model build in 45 week of 1995.

Is this the same for Z3s?
Because I got the message that Key/Car Memory was not possible, or something to that effect.

I haven't checked Z3's, but since they are a 3 series and are of the same vintage as E36's, chances are that they are fitted with the same modules and will also have no codable options.

Since I can not code modules using DIS, is it possible to code using NCS,or no?

Coding is just changing factory programmed options - my E36 was built in the final month of the model run and is a top of the line model (i.e. an "Individual" coupe). It just doesn't have any additional options.

I was wanting to program the door locks to lock after driving off. What a bummer, though.

Easy job on an E46, E38 or E39 and X5 and would probably even work on a Z4.
