Nice car. Why do you have an M6 emblem on the grill?
Beautiful car. Good luck with the sale.
I think you are going to be hard pressed to get that much money out of it. Also for that kind of money, anyone who buys it will be an enthusiast, or at least a fan, and will think very poorly of the M badge.

Agreed. I took a quick glance at the grill, then scanned the ad for the price and I thought I was looking at an M6. I was most displeased when I realized that I was looking at a 635. My 2 cents remove the M6 emblem and lower the price.

I agree totally, 5-7k range is all I would pay for this car.A very clean car, but the wheels, and automatic kill it for me.

13k is around double what a automatic 635csi in that condition will usually go for (one could get an M6 for that price). Working A/C counts too.
Good luck.
Any pictures of the engine bay?

Nice 6er, I like the exterior color. But to be fair, I would lose the M6 badge, fix the A/C and bring price down to 635csi level. Looks like a good example you got there. Nice Automatics can list for $4K-$5K in the current market. Pay attention to your cracked dash and crispy pods, that is important to note as well. Good Luck with the sale.

Thanks for the heads up on your beautiful car. I share the others' sentiments. However, IMO, given the maintainence and condition it could be worth reasonably more than half of your ask...but you have to fix the A/C and you will have to wait a very long time to find the buyer who will pay more than half - like a few semesters of law school.
Dyeing/painting the speaker pods would be worthwhile as well. And of course, first things first, spend 12 seconds on removing that silly M badge. Even with a functional A/C, this will be a very difficult car to sell at more than 6k given the auto. In any event, good luck with sale.
I actually like the wheels on the mellow color of the car...

Please let me know if your price comes down to market value. I'm local (NJ) and looking for a nice daily driver.
Check around for comparable sales. As many here have said, a 635csi with this mileage, in this condition is valued around $4k with functional A/C.

As I agree that this one is priced a bit high; I would like to know where you could find one in like condition with under 100k miles and working A/C for $4k.

Let's see, just checking collector car price tracker / ebay - I see two sales of excellent condition '88s, both autos, one at 99k, the other at 110k. Prices were 6500 for the 99k and 7750 for the 110k car, which sold more recently. The $7750 one was a cirrusblau on lotus white, though - definitely the most valuable color combo out there :shifty
there was also a very poorly listed '88 with camel or maybe a dark looking perlbeige interior and gold ext, 130k miles - didn't meet reserve with 1 bid at 5k.

Nice car in nice condition, especially for nj. Way overpriced into e46 m3 territory. Glws. Free bump for a clean car.

Exactly.
I did not see the others to compare the conditions but this one do appear to be in very nice condition and does look to have much of the mechanical items in order. If the A/C worked, that would be a plus but I also do not know if it worked on the others mentioned: these cars are getting older and it seems to be more and more difficult to find them with working A/C. I always loved the ones that say the A/C was working but it just needs a recharge.
Anyway, a year or two ago, the market was stronger for this car and will be back there again but now there are a few available. With a well done ad, nice pictures, functioning A/C and detailed description, this one should sell at the high end of the market value. The wheels are not to my liking but at least they are not TRX.

Yeah, seems like BMW a/c systems don't hold up that well. Hopefully I will have an '88 5psd with a fully functional dual a/c in a couple of days :) Not for sale, though.

Sadly an old bmw rarely gets what youve put into it back out when its time to sell. I do think you have a nice car but ESPECIALLY the way the economy is right now, youll be lucky to get 5k. Good luck with the sale though, it is a clean car.

P Dude, harsh... but true. But , the car is what it is and if someone shows interest, all will be as it should be. This venue is frankly not the place to sell a car. Everyone already has one or more of them. This is the place to damn and praise, fix and enjoy. Just look at the way "They" lump 6ers and 5ers in the same category. Autoxxx or such is a much broader audience for resale. Cxxxxlist is just, scary, calls at 2 AM and such...

Dude, bump with a significant price drop and it will sell. No AC, Fail-O-matic, and again with those Borbet Type A's, yeesh.
