That after I discovered a blown head gasket, I decided that I'm going to replace the head gasket. I've already started to disassemble process of removing the head. Last night, I pulled off the intake manifold. Today I'm hoping to pull the exhaust manifold, drain the block and radiator, and loosen the chain and remove it off the cam.
I'll take any advice and what not.

When they say "block coolant will have a large flow" or anything like, what they really mean is don't be under the car if you don't want to be showered in it. Also my regular drain pans have never done anything to catch the first burst. And if your exhaust is aged at all, soak the bolts in blaster or something similar now and keep at it. May need to set them a couple days. Can also try tightening them a little first, or heating them.

Oh yeah, that bolt. I learned my lesson the 1st time around when I 1st got the car lol. I was soaked. Yeah, I'm about to soak the bolts now. I don't plan on rushing threw it at all. I want it done right the 1st time.

Awesome! Goodluck. Glad to see your dedication. I have no advice just words of encouragement. I threw my touring to the curb when the headgasket blew. :(

Thanks. Sorry to about your lost. I'm doing any thing to it tonight. But I'm hoping to have the head off by Saturday night tho. At 1st I was pissed then realized, it could have been worse.

Little update. The cylinder head checked out ok and it passed all test they threw at it. Thank goodness. It's getting picked up this weekend when the head gasket set comes in along with the new head bolts.

My advice...... throw some S50 cams in there :) You can find them pretty cheap and they bolt right in.

I got a bleeder screw form the dealer yesterday. The parts girl loved my charm so much, it was free.
Seriously, go to the dealer it like $3. More than likely in stock.

Meh, I'm not in no rush. I already placed an order courtesy of my girl. Thanks babe lol.
I would put cams in, but it's already closed up. It only took me what? almost a month to get it done do to work and limited time between wrenching. But it does seem it got done quick. She is a little sluggish running but time will tell.
Here are pics from start to finish.

No check engine light and no more burning antifreeze. She did have a lot of white smoke coming out but it cleared up after a little bit. It rained hard the day before and there was still antifreeze in the down pipe from when I was timing the motor so I can start tearing it apart.
The car is a mess inside and out. I have to clean it out and give it a good wash with a hint of polish and wash. Maybe a little clay bar action. But damn did it feel weird driving it again.

Parts GIRL? Our local dealer only has a heavyset Hawaiian parts dude. The lady at the counter qualifies under land-whale status. The only cute one is the girl from Nissan who covers the phones at lunch. Must be rough!

Ha! I'm stuck dealing with dudes. I hate it. I e-mail them the night before and tell them I need this and this on hold till I get there the following day. There really good at it to.
EDIT. I did the all the work in the middle of a parking lot in an apartment complex.

it doesnt matter how fast it is. Its running and you did it :) makes you feel like you built the motor yourself. I had the feeling right after a full rebuild on my porsche 944. I was stoked but also nervous that it could explode at any moment haha.

Thanks e34croak. I was nervous while putting it back together and I took small breaks in between. I was really nervous that it wouldn't start. But after turning the key and hearing roar to life, I was jumping for joy. It makes me feel great about it.

Wow! Epic win!
Very impressive, sir! I hardly do anything to my car at my apartment. I always take it to my parents or a friends place. Props to you for a job well done. I can only imagine how good it feels.

Thanks. The management didn't really care at all. They can see me from the office and have not said one word to me while I was out there except a hello or how are you doing.

A little update. Gotta take the valve cover back off to put sealant at the back as it's dripping oil on the down pipe. Other then that, the car runs great dispute that I need a new fan clutch (no, I'm not deleting the fan clutch) and I'm also going to replace all of the coil packs since there 16 years old and they are on there way out and misfiring after a cold and hot start and there arching.
