No affiliation whatsoever, and some of the statements made in the description are questionable, but what a load of pictures. That's my new benchmark for thoroughness of photographic documentation in a FS ad.

'tis a well-done ad. Love the photo documentation of all the problem-areas. Very thorough.

Nicely done, but I'll nitpick anyway.

Find a hubcap and replace the missing hubcap. This makes me wonder what else has been neglected.

"This legendary BMW has no aftermarket items except the radio. It has a factory installed Dinan engine ecu chip, everything else is original factory specification."

Actually, that chip was installed at 79k miles. Makes me wonder what else was done.

No mention of records.

Only owned for a year. What's wrong to make him sell so quickly?

Again, very well documented, but still a few flags for me.

Also, while he showed the door brake area, I'd like to see it without the rubber cap hiding the brake area.

If the last picture was a hole in the block from a piston, i wouldn't know because I only got 2/3 down the page before I closed window..
needs new sway arms links.

needs new sway arms links.

My mechanic says I need new ones, too. How hard is it to do those? I know someone with a lift and he said to bring the parts over and we'll give it a go.

Do you have a Bentley manual? I haven't reviewed the sequence in mine but if it's a typical setup it shouldn't be too hard since the sway bars aren't loaded unless the car is in a turn, thus there's nothing to compress before removing nuts/bolts, and the torque on the link fasteners is usually less than on other suspension bits (thrust/control arms, etc).

Awesome! Thanks Steve! One more question, AutohausAZ has ones made by Karlyn for $10.25 each. Is that a good brand or should I go for the BMW ones at $40 each?

Back to the OP. I think this the second or third go 'round for that ad. Pretty sure I've seen it on eBay before. My guess is he isn't covering reserve on bids and re-listing. So either people aren't bidding right, or his expectations are high.

"Only owned for a year..." Well maybe he is like me, I have owned over 6 of my cars for about a year or so. It's called AADD; Automotive ADD. You have fun with it, spend some money, then move on.

This is why you buy the best car you can afford, because after you dump 5K into a car, you need to own it for a while to justify losing money, LOL

Hence the following:

Which just sold today, just waiting for the truck to come Friday to take it to the west coast, going to Portland.

Nice car, congrats on the sale... a bit of confusion, though... the cruise has nothing to do with the steering wheel, so the reason the cruise doesn't work is not related to the Momo wheel. It must be related to the module or the bowden cable, not the wheel. You may want to relay that to the new owner, so they can track down the problem...
