I haven't been around for awhile since I recently changed jobs and got married. I am bummed I missed southeast sharkfest this year but will hopefully be back next year. A few of you might remember my dad and I from last years with the oldest, maybe loudest, most bronze 6er in the Carolina's. :D

I recently got my 5 series back from the paint booth where a very talented restorer worked his magic getting the car resonably straight. He more or less told me when he was done with the car it had "more waves than the ocean." He had to spend more than a few hours on rust repair and getting the body in order for painting.

I really like how the process turned out and even though I lost the Hartge strips down the side going from a sort of shiny but really quite dull paint job to something that will "shine like a ball of glass for twenty years," was really nice!:buttrock

Let me know what you guys think and hopefully I'll some of you again next year.

I remember your 6 in the line up in front of Flow BMW before our drive. Was that the SESF you were last?

The six was driven down to Vintage and the Vineyards/ SESF from Minneapolis in 2009. It had less than 300 miles on the car before that 2000mile trip after putting in a new engine, wiring harness, front suspension, etc...

It was quit the adventure and only blew one radiator hose (very old) on the way home and right at the time we wanted to get another cup of coffee.

We pushed the 6 out of the garage to put the 5 back together two weeks ago. After we were done we decided to start the 6 up... it was a little rough, which NEVER happens, because it was a little upset about the 5 getting to much attention I think!

Looks great! Are the Hartge stripes still available or reproduced?

Actually, the whole euro bumper with airdam. Nice work! The car looks different (better)

Not only the front air dam but also the engine trans from a '79 euro 635. It was my spring break senior year of college and really was a great time with my dad doing the whole auto to manual swap. Definitely learned alot about the early fuel injection systems in the process.

Hopefully the next items for the six will include a new exhaust and the manual recaros from the '79 euro!
