Help a 06 330i pick a good tire set for some rough roads

I used to live in San Diego and had no problems using the original tire size 225-40-18 and back 255-35-18 (sports package)

But for some reasson we decided to move and the roads down here are rough. The poor bmw just feels like is going to come apart on the rough surfaces and not to mention the speed bumps are just high as a damn mountain.

I need a taller and softer tire. Sidewall protection is a must. The tire has to stickout of the wheel to protect it !

any tips?

You will have to go down to 17" wheels and tires if you want more protection. If I can help let me know.

you are correct.

I set a 225/45/18 tire next to it and there's no way is going to fit without rubbing on the fender when turning.
