Thought some of you would like this car seems to be a pretty good deal to and a rare color: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ct=u&car_id=275308010&dealer_id=100015904&car_year=1994&rdm=1276276423782&lastStartYear=1981&model=M5&num_records=25&systime=&make2=&highlightFirstMakeModel=&start_year=1991&keywordsfyc=&keywordsrep=&engine=&certified=&body_code=0&fuel=&awsp=false&search_type=both&distance=0&marketZipError=false&search_lang=en&sownerid=72505&showZipError=y&make=BMW&keywords_display=&color=&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&min_price=&drive=&default_sort=priceDESC&seller_type=b&max_mileage=&style_flag=1&sort_type=priceDESC&address=98033&advanced=&end_year=1995&doors=&transmission=&max_price=&cardist=1960&standard=false

Hmm... for the mileage and what it is the price is bordering on reasonable.

No good for me (can't buy / import grey market to Canada) although I could simply import one direct.

They're out there, but you're looking at $3k. Or just get a set of black cloth front sport seats and leave the rears leather. Or have the rears redone in cloth to match the fronts. Lots of options!

Well I would consider just the front in cloth and manual, heck even leather in manual,(I can have them reupholstered in cloth) I think the problem may be the heated seat part...I am particular.

Really?
Japan spec cars are okay though?
I wonder what the concern is.

It's a bizarre Transport Canada rule. I can import any 15 year old car from any country in the world ( as long as it was originally delivered there) and drive it with a simple safety inspection (no mods required).

However if it has ever been imported to another country first it's not allowed. :confused

Nothing too special; not a '95 and not a six-speed, but dead sexy interior. If I was going to buy a grey market car I'd hold out for a sedan or iT in 3.8/six-speed running gear with the 345 floaters, M-Sport side mirrors, extended/full leather, etc..

Cloth sport seats FTW. I can't believe people would rather have leather over that... Weirdness.

That's a really good price. There's a guy in Calgary, Alberta trying to sell #32/32 M540i. It's got more miles on it and he's asking $25K for it.

I would kill for one of those M540is.

Wouldn't pay 25k for a high milage one, though.

Those guys are car snipers. They hunt down M cars buy them cheap, clean them, and then flip them for ridiculous amounts. Well known in the E30M3 crowd.

That is a hot M5 with the cloth interior and manual seats! AND it has a trailer hitch:redspot

+1 for the high price. This shop is 30 min away from my house and have been there many times. actually test drove a 34 M540 there before i bought my 540/6. they have pretty rare cars, but absolutely rape people on the prices...too bad cause i think they would be way more respected if they wouldn't charge outrageous prices. Beautiful car though.

I wouldn't say the buyers are getting "raped". People here and all over the web constantly ask, "What's my car worth?" And the answer is most always, "What someone will pay for it." If someone doesn't like the asking price, they'll either make an offer or walk away.

Now I don't know these sellers, maybe they are scumbags, but flipping cars (or houses, or jewelry, or anything of value) isn't dishonest. If they can afford to keep the car on the market long enough to get their asking price, no matter how ridiculous it might be, then more power to 'em. As always, "Buyer Beware".

i am not saying they are dishonest, i am simply saying that they are outrageously priced and anybody who knows anything about them would agree. like i said before, they have some very nice and rare cars, but they hardly sell because of their price tags.
