Does anybody know an easy way to fix the warped passenger side airbag cover? I know I read it before but I can't find it now.
Also what dye do you guys use to fix the rear deck? Any pics showing the improvement would be cool too.
Thanks

You could try heating it up with a heat gun and wrapping it the opposite way around a paper towel tube.

Innovative idea... Does the cover just pop off? I haven't messed with it yet

Yes. Once you lift the cover, there are 2 bolts the hold it on.
Becareful with the heat gun.

Any ideas on the rear deck? Mine is seriously discolored.

Alright sounds easy enough. If the kids cooperate, maybe I'll have something to do this weekend. Thanks

Congrats man! Been there. It's amazing how much you can get done during a 3 hour nap. We're restoring a 102 year old house 3 hours at a time.
As for your airbag cover, what color do you need? I have an extra one in parchment.

Don't use a heat gun, you run too great a risk of cooking it.
Just boil it for a little bit. That'll soften it up without melting it, dry it off quick and mold it to shape. Someone posted that here years ago, I can't give credit where it's due as I don't remember who it was.

hahahahah i've done that with plastic before, and everyone thought i was nuts, but it works great long as it doesnt sit against the side of the pan or what ever you use.

Thanks guys and yes, my entire life is broken into 3 hour intervals...I'd say that is the worst part. I wish I had parchment so I could take the easy way out but my interior is all Black so some boiling for me. That is what I thought I read a while back but I couldn't remember.
So when I pry the cover up, I will find 2 nuts holding it on? Is that correct? Anything else I gotta worry about while doing this? I assume it's pretty straight forward but figure I will ask before I get started.
Good luck with the house Buzzkill, sounds like a huge project but worth it in the end, every 3 hours you can get lol.

That will be my life in about a month so I'll be applying to join your club lol
Thanks for posting this, I was going to search on how to do those two very things! The hot water trick sounds like a great idea - need a VERY steady hand when using a heat gun.
To hi-jack this thread a little bit, I attempted to get new A-Pillars from BMW for my M5 (as they are faded from black to dark blue) and they are discontinued! I was surprised to hear that! So I guess I could do the same treatment to the A-Pillars as I would to the rear parcel shelf? I know I will have to be SUPER careful taking them off to avoid breaking those extremely brittle clips...
