My upper radiator thermostat housing cracked near the bleeder screw so I am desperately trying to fix it cause need to go to work tomorrow.
I am stuck on how I am supposed to remove the fan, I ordered the special tool 110 05 30 to hold the fan clutch in place so I can unscrew it with a 32mm wrench.
So the question is which darn way does it need to be turned (clockwise or counterclockwise) if I am looking right at it, note I have not removed the fan, I am simply using a pic I found here to show you what I am talking about...
Look at the red arrow...

Should be left-hand threads.

a hose clamp may fix the damaged part of the cover till you can get it fixed. I drove for 2 months with a cracked thermostat cover with no issues.
BTW your welcome for the picture.

God, Larinah. Did you have to use that awful pic of the underside of my car over and over like that?

I always wondered whose car that was with that massive oil leak especially since Larinah states it's not his car.

Yeah.:)
When I bought the car, it had a couple of bad oil leaks that I had fixed right away. Obviously with the lower engine screening, an underbody flush does absolutely no good.

If you are interested I have a DIY (sort of) of how to make your own tool to take the fan blade off. That is if you are short on time and want the tool ASAP. I can also make one for you and ship it out if you are interested for a small fee (but since you already ordered one, that option is probably out).
