Hello all ....

The cable did not break in the typical location at the handle on the inside of the car ... it broke at the junction under the hood I guess. I was able to remove my Kidney grills and pull really hard on the passenger side cable and the latch opened .. but I cannot get to the driver side cable.

I searched a lot on this forum and other forums, with no luck .... On two occasions, I found threads that indcated that there is a solution, but people were reluctant to post the way to open the hood as the information might be used by theives ... I understand that, but now I need help and I assure you I am not a thief :)

Would someone please provide me direction? I ordered all three new cables and one latch "just in case" I have to beat on it and bend it ... so once I open my hood I can get back on the road within an hour or so of labor I hope.

Thanks a bunch for your help in advance!

Use this. I'll put my money on the handle side of the cable. Did you remove the kick plate?

The layout of the entire hood cable is here. From the cabin all the way to the passenger's side:

Through the front grille/s you can remove them without damaging the hood. That's how my hood was opened by the body shop just a couple of weeks ago.
