Ladies and gents, it's with a heavy heart that I bid you all farewell. This forum has been great to me, has taught me volumes, and I have tried to return as much as possible (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1214180). I am moving on now, not out of discontent with the E36, goodness no… this car is amazing, and I may well build another in the future. For now though, I am going to spend a few years traveling the world and learning about humans rather than machines. Unfortunately the car can't come with, and letting it sit for that long would be criminal. Hopefully I can find another owner who adores it and maintains it as pedantically as I have.
To the joys of a well built E36, and a day at a racetrack:

Me rounding turn 8 at Laguna Seca on a damp day.
Happy modding, racing, and cruising all. Stay safe.

Best of luck.

I'll do my best. Nothing like having a throng of internet enthusiasts to police the future of my pride and joy. :D

I'm looking for ten grand at the moment, obviously not just anybody is going to pay that for it, and that's okay. I expect to sell it to somebody who wants to turbo an E36 because all of the work of making it ready to handle gobs of power is already done (thicker axle shafts, reinforced diff/subframe/RSM, bigger brakes, etc…). But this isn't a for sale thread. ;)

MEATBALLLLLL!!!! Sorry whenever I see your name I have this distinct urge to yell it.

No sir. I am just going traveling, it's an experience thing. Learning about society and people.

Your posts are always a good read. It's too bad your leaving (I might anyhow) because now there is one less true enthusiast on the forum. This place is running out of people like you.
Anyhow good luck, there is a lot more to see out there than just the US.

It's true, we need more performance enthusiasts. Come on people! Light wheels, sticky tires, racing seats… meet ya at the track. :D

What's the itinerary? I did a little traveling after college before starting work (because of student loans ughhhhhh)
I HIGHLY recommend the middle east, particularly Syria and Lebanon. It was my first experience leaving "the west". Profound experiences and learning were had.

Always wanted to end something with that. Thought it seemed appropriate in this instance.
