I know they are both 4x100 and similar offsets that'll work between teh cars but not sure if the hub is as large or larger than the mini hub, anyone know for sure?

The issue would be making sure the brakes fit. You may need hub rings and spacers.
But the bolt pattern sounds about right.

14" basket weaves do not clear the front side of the calipers on my Mini. Going to be getting spacers. 1/2" should be fine.

The offset is also pretty low on a lot of E30 wheels. But after I get my NO E30 plate on the car my buddy with some 15 inch mesh wheels is going to let me put them on the car to see how they look/fit. He's convinced they are going to stick out quite a bit. As for hub rings, the MINI hub since is 56mm, but I'm unsure of the E30 size.

OK hub size is 57.1 so you need rings and offset is in the 20s. In short with rings and a hellaflush mentality They work LOL

I got a good wheel to sample with. They are 15 inch 3-piece BBS style wheels. My friend says they aren't actual BBS's, but very similar and probably even rarer. They looked a little chintzy without camber, I must say.
Car's also uber high in the shot since we put it on while the car was jacked up to replace the motor mount.
