Hey guys,
When i was taking off my wheels for a test fit yesterday, I noticed that the style 5's offset was way more than what I had on there before (style 5's are 20 while the ones that I DD at this moment are 12's). Then I noticed that the bolts for the wheels Wernher going in nearly as far .
Basically, I am asking if it is safe to use stock length bolts for the style 5s, or will i have to get longer ones, and how much longer should they be?
ALSO, I am wanting to take the wheels apart to powder coat them, I searched around but didn't find everything I was looking for. I understand that I must use a 12 point, 10-12mm socket to take the nuts off? How much lbs or torque must i use to correctly fit them back together again? Also, just wondering but is it a challenging task? I would set a day aside to take them apart if they were.
here's a link to my wheel color thread if interested:

When i fitted my style 5's 2 years ago on my M3 I had to get spacers to clear my brakes so in the kit I received longer bolts and they worked fine. everyone that I have know have run the stock bolts and have been fine. Just make sure you have hubcentric rings if they are going on an e36.
As far as taking them apart.....it will take you all of one day to get them apart...there are alot of bolts....and yes a 12 point and 10-12mm sockets will do the job. Also get a rubber hammer to pound out the bolts. they arent easly to get out.
Reinstalling the bolts....I would recommend getting all new nuts and bolts but I have seen ppl re assemble the wheels with the old bolts and havent had a problem. I think the torque specs ont he style 5's are 20 lbs but dont hold me to that... I cant remember what I torqued mine to.
Hope this helps

Stock lugs here and no Problems as for Disassemble what I did was back the nut off the stud till it's almost off and hit the exstinsion that's connected to the socket with a Hammer they all came right out. The Centers will be stuck in there, what I used was a old phone book and a big Hammer don't be afraid to hit it. It will take some force to remove the center. I used new Nuts and Bolts and Don't forget Thread lock.

Thanks for answering my questions!
Does anybody know how much torque these bolts need? wouldn't want to break one

No thread lock until I know how much torque to put on the nuts! Thanks for the advise though
