View Full Version : Considering cleaning the intercooler on an 06

I did it 12+ years ago on an MR2 turbo I had, just yanked it out and sprayed a boat load of brake cleaner in there and rinsed thouroughly with hot water. Loads of oil debris came out and even if it didn't make a performance difference its nice insurance.
I may try to document it on the MCS with 70k miles just to see the impact after done.

Not sure about brake cleaner, but I used carburator cleaner. Be careful with the rubber connectors. Old rubber can crack. Otherwise, it's a fairly straight forward job and only takes a few minutes.

Yeah just some brake or carb cleaner will work fine.
