Well where do i begin..... basically i went to a mechanic in hopes of turning of my drl's and deleting the corner lights. He quoted me $20 for each of these functions and i agreed so i bring my car in and he shuts of the drl and says ok . I asked him what about the corner lights and he says i cant do that. I was like WTF. he's like you said you only wanted the drl off and it was $20 each side. At that point i wanted to bitch slap the mofuker and he quickly did something while the computer was still connected and the drls turned back on. he disconnected the computer and closed the hood before i could say anything . I was so mad but i kept my calm and just drove off.

I then started researching online about the gt1 and dis thinking i will just do it myself. So after countless hours spent installing and troubleshooting INPA and DIS I realize that the DRL disable feature is not present in DIS or NCS car memory menus. I was thinking why is it not there so i spent some time searching for a solution but was unable to find anything. But from what I can gather is that is seems the jackass deleted the drl subroutine from the memory menu now i read somewhere that this could be retrofitted with SSS but i imagine that I could do it with NCS but im not too familiar with it.

So I am calling on my fellow brothers and sisters(if any) here at bimmerforums to lead me to the right direction. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

LOL... 20 bux each side, its a single command.. on or off, and (i sure wouldnt take anything to that guy and pay for any work from him)

....like i said.. its off and on.. so all he did was disable them, then re enable them... he didnt delete them, and there is no retrofit... retrofit, is for when you replace or add a new module (physical device, like a car alarm, etc) to your car...

I am never going back to that SOB!!!

as far as disable or re enable i have found no such option in DIS or NCS in the menus that it should be located so i dont know where or how to adjust this.

He didn't delete the "subroutine", What the F is a subroutine? Stop talking out of your azz lol!

You need to do the conversion to USA under retrofits, then disable them in CKM.

Sorry i didn't know how to explain what i meant. But i was playing around in NCS last nite in the car memory menu and if you click on a specific control option to change it says you can press f3 do delete the option and that is what I throught the guy did.

The car is canadian so shouldn't it already be us spec or does it still need to be retrofit?

BTW thank you Fnc1 for clarifying what retrofit does. I have only started working with all these new fun programs. it feels like when u get a new toy when your a kid. Except i know that NCS is no TOY

Retrofits do more than just retrofitting a module like fnc1 said.

It's simple. Canada is MANDATED to have DRL's. It's not available to change in CKM of either NCS/SSS.

Change your car to US spec (they are different, US is us, Canada is Canada, where did you get the idea they're the same?), and the option will show up in CKM.

Ask questions by all means, try not to assume things, that's how you will fail when you go exploring.

Thanks for the info. Which program do i require to do this and if you care to share, how exactly do i change it to us spec?
