Hello all,

I have a set of OZ Mito with some really nice big lip. All the wheels are in great shape, however one of them got dropped on the front face and the clear coat is mostly gone around the perimeter. It just gives me another good reason for wanting to polish the set.

I'd like to jump on it tomorrow since I gotta replace the tires on the rears anyways. I heard some suggestions from friends as far as stripping the coating with acetone remover, but is that the best method?

Also, the inner of the barrels is powdercoated. I'd like to take off the powdercoat from just the first .5" of the inside of the lips since I'm running slightly stretched tires and I'd like to see the shine from the inside of the lip (like the machined look). What would the suggestion for that be? Sand it, and then coat it with something? If so, what?

Thanks for any suggestions, and here's the pic for views.

you will have to take the lips off to repolish them corectly. and you have to use a stripper(jasco), cause aceton wont touch the finish.

You may have had this fixed already, but in the future you can have them polished locally. AWRSwheelrepair.com.
