My parents own a Hyundai elantra 2002, and the speakers play alot louder than my car. They said they wouldnt mind trading speakers with me since they listen to music really low. Im not sure if the speakers are the correct sizes though!

Go to crutchfield.com and see what size they say comes in the elantra. Same with 535i. Your 535, if it's like mine, has 10 speakers, some of which are component speakers.

is it the speakers or the amplifier powering them which makes hte difference?
to be honest speakers can be had for little money which makes swapping speakers a silly idea jsut because of the time involved...
you want 5.25" in front and rear for your main speakers...

it has to do with more than just the speakers. Headunit, amp etc. Even if they do fit, the speakers in those cars aren't anything to write home about. Is your system completely stock?

Define "play a lot louder". More bass? More volume at a lower level?

Just turn up the volume, problem solved.

But seriously, no, swapping speakers won't help, and likely won't work. Amplifiers create volume, speakers have a much smaller relationship to sound volume through their efficiency (how well they convert 1 watt of power to 1 db of sound).

Careful or you'll be on the slippery slope to a $1k + stereo. If some of your speakers are blown by all means replace them. Just not with your parent's Hyundai speakers.
