View Full Version : Quantum reflective tint on black?

Anyone here have REFLECTIVE (Quantum) titanium tint on their BLACK BMWs (2 door M3 preferred). I'm considering getting tint on my car and was originally thinking of getting all black (titanium, of course). But now, I'm thinking the reflective tint may look better.

Also, would a staggered look be better or even? I had the staggered look on my last car (see below) with 14% on back and back sides, 32% on front sides, 51% on windshield. I would either do the same on my BMW or maybe even 32% all around (except the windshield which I may keep at 51%).

What do you think?

Oh, sorry for the double post. It said that the picture was too large so I had to redo it.

Anyway, yeah, my last car was silver (silver-ish) so the reflective matched better. How would it look on BLACK?

Also, please post CLEAR pictures and keep them small (for you dial-up users).

Oh, and any ideas on the cost? I already know where to go but am wondering what you guys paid.

Thanks!

I always liked reflective tints.

What's the difference between staggered and even?

Daved - i think he means:

staggered - different percentages on front on rear side windows
even - same percentage all around

clumpymold - i would go black even all the way around... but i suggest doing 20% on sides and rear with 40% on the windshield... would look cleanest on a black 2dr ///M3

i paid $140 for 20% platinum on sides and rear and 40% smoke on my windshield of my 02 Maxima last year... the same shop (i am great friends with the owner) told me roughly the same price for my ///M3 for the same (or black, if that is what i decide to go with)

Thanks.... I don't like staggered tints then :)

Go with the same % in the 4 side windows. You can get a different % in the windshield and in the backglass although.

I have 20% all around on my jet black 3er, best look for it imho, makes the car flow real nicely, that is the first time I think the reflective tint has looked good on a car if I get a steel grey m3 one day maybe ill consider it.

20% black, right? Not reflective? The main reason why I'm even looking at the reflective, actually, is that I plan on repainting my car (once funds become available) to something silver-ish (I ended up painting my last car from silver to the Infiniti Silverstone color). I just don't want to have to retint the car to match it.

All in all, however, black DOES look nicer on a black car but until I see the reflective tint on a black car, I won't know for sure.

Anyone have reflective tint on a black car? Doesn't even matter if it's not a BMW. Anyone? Please?

Bump....

PLEASE....I'm getting my car soon and am leaning towards BLACK.

5% back window, 14% sides, 32% front windshield. Too dark?

ive seen a reflective tint on the bottom that was about 4 inches, and then it faded into a black tint for the rest of the window...it was on a mustang and didnt match the paint but on a black car it might not look bad

My tint is similar, it has reflective tint in the top and then it becomes dark for the rest of the window, it's like a gradient.

i wish i had pics, the window looked really cool but then looking at the whole car itself it didnt match...but I think on a black or white car it would look real good
