...is such a pain in the ass. :eyecrazy

It's been 6 years since I've bought a used car; it's almost as bad as buying a new car. Since I'm new to zee German cars, I feel like I owe it to myself to hold out for the right one.

Anyone have any tips besides the usual used car buying stuff? Anyone selling, by the way? :D

keep your eyes pealed. I saw one, wasnt even on CL. Got it for 2500 bucks. Needs some minor work but drives like a dream.

I thought I PMed you back about mine... Hmmm maybe not. Anyways I pulled mine out of the barn before I left for work and it started right up and took me to sonic 15 miles away. I'm kinda local too. I might even drive to meet you somewhere if you wanted to just take a look at it.

Ive got a 540/6 that I need to move prior to moving for japan.

Black on black with tons of upgrades. Throwing stars and racing dynamics exhaust are the big ones. Sport seats etc.

I have family in Weatherford,TX that I am visiting prior to going over seas. I could arrange something.

It's currently listed at 5K.

PM me if interested

I have one I'd sell but I want more for it than it's worth :D. I hope your search ends well.

I have the same mindset. Everything is for sale, a reasonable price is not guaranteed though. :D

OP keep your eye out on craigslist something will pop up.

Sorry, fresh out. I have a Tahoe. Or cash...

Johnny and Bubba - pm'd/called.

I check craiglook every day. There's a decent one in SF, but the wheels are hideous. I'm keeping an eye on it in case they lower the price. There's a gray one in MN for a good price, but no contact info. I've talked to a few others, but so far they've been unable to produce pictures, service history or both. An oxford one popped up a few months ago 2 miles from my office - I passed due to the ~$5k firm price, 180k undocumented miles, service engine light and the possessed alarm

Sigh...

if you're willing to tackle the European import process try autoscout24.com or mobile.de. THere were some amazing deals the last time I checked.

Mine's still for sale for $4K. Long list of replaced wear items, etc. But the paint on the roof and trunk lid needs to be redone. I'm tentatively planning on respraying those areas during the first week of July, but that would drive my asking price up, along with fixing some other little things.

I know, I know, "if they're so easy to fix, why don't you fix them before selling it?" But these are a PITA to me as I don't spend as much time as I used to working on vehicles (and I can't mess up - cut, scratch - my hands, as stupid as that sounds). It's easier for me to just drop the price and give a potential new owner a savings for things he can do himself. Or herself.

The car runs excellent. In fact, I was just up in Dallas on the 2nd for a commercial shoot (from here in Austin). Mechanically, it may need one O2 sensor.

CA car, recently moved, inspected and registered here in TX. Clean, clear title in my possession.

I won't go on and on... If you're interested in a Hellrot 540i/6-speed, PM me for details and maybe we can work something out. I'm in Austin.

GLW your search.

Bump for new details: car (above) is now $4K (Friggin' automerge won't let me bump this up)

Complete details in linky: http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1406057

I can't edit the title of the link, which shows the price as $4,600.
