My father and i are pretty sure the water pump is out in my 1990 BMW 525i, and i have been at it for a while and i don't see it. What is involved exactly in finding an replaceing the water pump? I could use some help from my bimmer brothers haha

Finding the water pump? The fan clutch is attached to it. Remove the fan clutch with the fan, remove the belts, the water pump pulley and it should become visible.

Well, if it's an M20 (can't remember if that's what a 90 would have) then you should consider also doing a timing belt. You'll see why when you start getting into it. If it's an M50 a water pump replacement is much, much easier than on an M20. Likewise an M30 is easier than either of the other two.

If it's an M20, you'll see the water pump in here, and it should be obvious how to replace it.
