was there ever a stock subwoofer option on a 95 540i?

Was there ever a stock or optional subwoofer with 540i's and if not what are your recomendations for an extra subwoofer set up preferable the cheapest way and what do I need for it and how much would it cost me? The stock stero with my alpine deck isn't doing it for me

I saw installation instructions for a factory subwoofer but I've never seen one. I sae it one but forgot to save the bookmark. It had a "matrix" of models and different options. It was mounte to the back of the rear seat from the trunk. It would be great to see one of those!
