So some of you may have seen my earlier thread about my turn signal issue. Basically i put the wrong bulb in and blew a lot of fuses and i replaced them and got everything back except right turn signals. Our (my dad and I) best guess after 3 days of scratching our heads and tearing things apart was that it had to be the turn signal relay. Well today i went to 2 U-pull-it places and there were no e34s anywhere but i did find an '88 750i. So i look under the hood and bingo! A turn signal relay. I forgot my other relay to compare but i figured that the e34 and e32 were fairly interchangeable and thank god for that. I got home, plugged it in and voila! Turn signals! The only casualty is that when i use my keyless entry, the lights don't flash anymore. Whatever, i can deal. Best $4 i ever spent! A new relay at the stealership was like $75....

Cool! Let me know next time you go to the yard, I could use a few H1 pigtails.

Glad to hear you're up and running and blinking again.

I was getting pretty upset about it because it was either spend money on part after part trying to figure it out, or take it to a shop which what i really didnt want to do. I am so happy now. Ill try to let you know next time i go. By the way there is an e32 in Sherwood that has a great rear seat with headrests and a center console if you feel like snatching them and selling them. I already took the map lights and rear view mirror.

Your lights flash when you unlock/lock the car?

Your lights flash when you unlock/lock the car?

They used to. :( They flashed twice for unlock, and once for lock.

FYI: you blew the fuse on the alarm... Not a car fuse. Or if they didn't use one, you blew the parking light output itself.
on my Autopage alarm parking light was a white wire- see here.

see how it is away from the other fuses? Installers often cut them off to make a neater bundle and an easier install for themselves.
They don't really care if you blow the brain up later on because of a bad light because that isn't their fault. They just sell you another alarm. :)

Hopefully you have the fuse, and that gets you back up and running.

You were exactly right! I looked at the three fuses that were connected to the system, and the red 10amp fuse on the unit itself was blown. Luckily i bought some of the mini fuses the other day by accident. Now the car is as it was before this fiasco. And I now have clear corners o my car that work and my mod is finally, after 5 days, finished. lol.

Just for future reference...

Relays are relays. As long as the diagram/schematic on the side/top match, you are good to go. You should be able to pick up just about any relay for an E34 from Autozone/Baxter/Schucks etc...just ask to see the relay catalog and find the matching relay.

I worked at a large car audio company and we had some Bosch relays that match our fuel pump relays that we stocked for certain turn on applications and some alarms.
