I wonder if anybody know anything about this.

I noticed when looking for the part number of the heated windshield nozzle's, that there is a <3/97 and >3/97 part number listed

<3/97: 61 66 8 350 355
>3/97: 61 66 8 376 011

The old number is used for the E36, E30, E32, E34, Z1 and Z3

The new number is used on the E36 and Z3 only.

Now this makes me think that they maybe did an upgrade on these.

Does anybody know if maybe later E36's and Z3's have a "spray fan" instead of 2 single streams? Like you see on new cars? Or does anybody have an idea what the upgrade could be?

As I need new ones, I'd wonder if I should order the newer part number or not.

I would be more concerned with the electriclal connector than the spray pattern. BMW has a habit of changing the type of connector on things. The early wahser fluid reserviors had a much different connector than the later models. I wouldn't doubt it if the reason for the part number change included a different connector. Possibly a different sized opening in the hood that they fit through too. BMW is also pretty good at listing part numbers according to build dates. As long as you get the build date correct you should get the correct part for your car.
