Car is a 92 325is - this is a single circuit window motor vehicle.
Car was T Boned before I bought it and the driver door was replaced with a 95 M3 door that contains a dual circuit window motor.
I need help , if its possible , to wire in my window switch to the dual circuit motor .
Probable a hard wire ?
What is the purpose of dual circuit as compared to single ?
I have a Bentley but having troubles deciphering the wiring. I understand the color codes but not what to do with them , LOL.
Im not adverse to electrical at all , been doing rewires on VW's for many years but this is my 1st E36.

Thanx
:D

There is a control module behind the glove box that controls the windows.

The motor feedback connections are going to be different vs. the M3 door.

I'm sure it's possible to control the window motor via stand alone but I would have to see what else might not work or have to be defeated.

Get ready for a project.

Thank you for the response.
Maybe it would be easier to just buy a used single circuit motor off ebay and hardwire it to the proper connections at the door jam .
Question there is .....
Can I get any motor , i.e. from a 4 door or 2 door?
Will a single circuit motor physically mount to the M3 dual circuit window regulator or are they different ?
What would be nice is if I could buy a left side 4 door single circuit motor and mount it directly to the existing door regulator and then run my own wires to the door jam and corresponding ports at the door jam connector.

It would be easier to buy the correct motor for the car module/wiring.

I think the motors are different between the 2dr and 4drs.

I'm pretty certain the motor will mount up to the M3 door/regulator.

Changing motors isn't any fun. Have you done this before?

Yes , I believe changing out the motor to single circuit is the best and most logical solution.

Would be nice to know if a 4 door motor will or will not work as the internet is littered with 4 door motors but laking in 2 door single circuit motors.

I suspect it to be a PITA but Im patient and have done much worse and harder jobs in other cars so Im prepared .

If your not already familiar with RealOEM.com you should check it out and do some part # cross referrencing between your car and the door you bought.

Thank you .
Well I didnt "buy" the door . It was already assembled on the car in place of the T Boned door .
Ill look into RealOEM and see if the 2 door and 4 door part #'s are the same for the motors and if the regulators for dual and single circuit motors are the same.
