I recently purchased two wheels, advertised as 17" M Sport style 68's, off of Craig's List and when they arrived I was unpleasantly surprised to receive to 16"!!! rims that look idetical to the Style 68 3 series wheels -minus the M logo.
The seller refused to refund my money and now I am stuck with these $250 paper weights until I can figure out what I have and get them sold.
I don't see the wheels on BMW's wheel style catalog (http://www.kalach.easynet.be/index.html) and the only other trace of similar rims was in the following Ebay add (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Factory-Alloy-Wheel-BMW-5Series-01-03-16-59349-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem2556249c49QQitemZ16035 9029833QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccesso ries#ht_1917wt_704), though I need confirmation that the picture in the add indeed matches the description:
Any assistance in identifying these wheels would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

I don't think style 68's ever came as 16's from BMW - they must be reps, but from where? who know - google is not helpful
those pictured in the Ebay auction i assume are the wrong picture. model# 59349 looks like this which I believe is a style 32 and came in anything from a 15" to a 20"):

Those are style 68 reps, the real 68's are only available in 17"

Thanks for your feedback. I assumed it was some type of miniaturized replica, but I cannot find a single source selling this type of wheel ... . Anyone have any info on where I can find miniature style 68 replicas in 16"?

You gave up too easily.
Tell the seller you'll get the police involved (internet crimes are a big deal), or they can settle it calmly. You received an item that wasn't as advertised; you have every right to refuse it.
Now go get your money back.

I could, but unfortunately, I can't justify the time to pursue this in court over $250, and I likely would not have a leg to stand on. I have given the dirt bag a ethics check, and it will be up to him to live with his actions. I take partial responsibility since I picked the wheels in person, in good faith, without verifying their size and did not realize the discrepancy until the wheel arrived at my house. They looked like style 68 wheels and as far as I knew 17" was the only size they were available in. An unpleasant surprise to say the least. I should have acted with more scrutiny and less trust.
