View Full Version : how to put in a cosmos racing cai

im trying to put in a cosmos racing cold air intake into my 1993 e36 325i. thier is a sensor of some sort with two hoses with radiatior fluid in it. how do i get it off. also what is the sensor for.

I have the same intake. Off the top of my head i don't know what sensor you're refering too. It's a pretty simple install. I know it's easier if you take out the headlight (if you have aftermarket headlights). Can you post a pic of what you are refering to?

the sensor is located in the stock air box if that helps a little

I think wakeboardboy is talking about (IIRC) the Air temp Sensor, it has one bolt holding it into the air box just after the filter, it's on the firewall side of the airbox. I don't have a cosmos CAI, but other kits I've seen have a bung/nipple where it attaches.

yeah thats it but what i really want to know is how important it is when it comes to the performance of my car

I have the same CAI. Mine is disconnected and runs fine. It's been on almost a year.
