I really like these wheels, There is a car for sale in my town, a 95 525I that seems to be an Olympic edition, I havent see one before this one, And the guy told me its a special edition. Well The car is a nice one, Green with tan, 90,000 miles, But he is asking a Ludicrous amount of money, 12,900 or best offer!! Ha, and this is for a Slushbox. I really like the wheels on it though, better than the basket weaves that are on the car I am in the process of buying, Is it possible to buy these wheels, or are they uber exclusive?

came out in 1996 for the summer olympics in atlanta.

got this off roadfly...

I am the proud owner (recently) of a 1995 525i Olympic Edition. It has a few extra little goodies but in BMW tradition, they didnt do anything gaudy. Just changed the door sills to a 1996 Olympic Logo model, added green piping around the tan leather seats, headrests in the back (nice), flatstar wheels w/225hr55-16 tires and a small plaque on the glovebox. BTW the paint is Oxford green. The month of manufacture is Nov 95.

this is from http://waw.wardsauto.com/ar/auto_word_sponsors

BMW dealers were the first to burst out of the starting blocks with their special edition 525i, with a distinctive Oxford green paint job and parchment leather interior.

On the door sills a distinctive "Olympic Games Edition" script is stamped above the five-ring Olympic symbol. All this can be yours for a mere $40,650.

i have no idea what the rims look like however.

I looked at one 2 years ago. I agree with you about the wheels. I liked them too, but I think they were 16". 2 reasons I didn't buy it.

1. I'm not a fan of Oxford Green (don't like green cars at all)
2. I've never been fond of "special edition" anything. I don't care who makes it, when they tack on a few extras and call it a "Special Edition" it always costs more and is always worth less later on. I was already thinking about how I would remove all the tacky Olympic Torch logo's from the interior.

If I would ever buy a "Special Edition" it would be something truly special like an M3 - LTW. Otherwise it's a ripoff.

Yeah 16 inch is exactly what I need for the 530i, The Basket Weaves are alright, but I like these alot better. I could do without the special edition car, but I do like the rims.

:az: I dunno.

The stiching in the seats is cool.

But, the wheels arent that nice IMO.
