Hi -

I read the following code from my M3 this morning and was hoping if someone could help me determine what the problem may be and how to fix it. The following codes was read:

16 E3 E4 F6 FC FE

Table 16

E3 - O2 sensor adaptabion limit, Cyl #1-3
E4 - O2 sensor adaptation limit, Cyl #4-6
F6 - Secondary air system flow too low, Cyl #4-6
FC - EVAP incorrect purge flow
FE - EVAP large leak detected

I recently replaced both pre-cat O2 sensors, cleaned the MAF with CRC MAF cleaner, and replace the broken boot connected to the MAF.

I had the same code above (except for FC FE) prior to the work above. Please help as I'm not sure what the problem could be now. Thanks a bunch in advance.

I had a secondary airflow too low code also. My air pump worked but ran continuously and it ended up being the valve that the pump connected to on the manifolds. It was stuck midway not allowing it to flow enough but also not allowing the pump to shutoff

So what was the fix for that? Was it a diy item or that is something that has to be done at the shop? I don't want to have to put out too much $$$$ to fix a 13 year old car. Thanks.

Make sure your gas cap is tight, clear the codes and see which ones return. Often, one code may trigger a sympathetic , but false code.

what Uncle said .... i bought the part from pelicanparts.com for 128 bucks plus a dollar fifty gasket. Its under e36>exhaust>control valves. Air pump works as it should now, no more condensation in it and the code has gone.
