I'm getting a P1403 code which after some searching I believe is the Evap Shutoff Valve? What is the evap shutoff valve? I know it's located under the car below the spare.
Some time ago I had code P0442 (Small evap leak- faulty vent/purge solenoid?) which is now gone. I bought a new fuel cap and apparently that has diagnosed the issue.
However, when I fill my tank, if I make fast turns to the left, raw gas is spilling out between the rear bumper right below the fuel filler. I've taken the inner fender apart and can't see any wet areas around the vapor tank or any related parts. The amount of gas spilling out must be substantial though, it's already causing corrosion through the paint.
Please help!
Thanks,
Cody

I also have code P0133 for o2 sensor bank 1 sensor 1, but I think that problem is unrelated.

Sounds like you could have a leak from the fuel filler neck/hose. After time, corrosion can cause leaks from that area. Not sure the best way to check that out as I haven't had to deal with it. But I imagine you would have to pull the lining from around the inner fender around the wheel to get to it. Looks like you may have already done this if that's the inner fender you were referring to. Take it for a spin around the block after removing it and filling the tank and then look for more spillage. Gas evaporates so quickly that you might not have seen the source of the leak if you didn't check it immediately after.

Ok. I'm thinking that maybe the filler neck has cracked, as you suggested. The gas cap is really hard to get on and off, almost as if the neck has moved. The cap sits behind the bottom lip of the filler area and you have to yank the cap pretty hard to get it off. The car was totaled per a rear end collision while the P.O. had it. Maybe this has knocked things out of whack a bit. I have pictures but can't figure out how to upload them... i may not be allowed if i haven't met the minimum post number criteria.

Hmmmm... Mentioning that in the beginning of the thread might have saved you some time. ;)

Well I haven't always had this code, and it hasn't always leaked gas out of the car. So three years after the collision... I wasn't sure if it would be related or not.

maybe the neck was bent and finally gave out due to being weak?

Did you end up fixing the problem?
