Hey, I have a set of style 19s and I'm having a good bit of trouble figuring stuff out. Can I use BBS RM/RS bolts on them(particularly the gold bolts on the blackforest industries or ecstuning websites)? What size is the roundel on the centercap? 68mm or 71mm? Is it a sticker or the pop on roundel? I've read that you can use aircraft stripper to get the lip down to bare metal, but what do you use to protect the metal,so you dont have to polish them every day? I've been using this thread (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1058877), but it still doesnt answer my questions. Thanks in advance.

Thanks man. I've been busy with school and whatnot. I should be getting my rims back from the shop tomorrow. I think I'm gonna get the tire taken off the spare so I can experiment with the wheel.

I am working on a set of Style 19's myself right now :cool To answer your questions:

-Unfortunately, you can't use RS/RM bolts, because of the way the Style 19's are assembled (The face is removed from the back of the wheel, and the lip/barrel remain together as one piece). The bolts are splined and can only be removed when hammered out from the back of the wheel.

-The centercap roundels are stickers on my wheels, although I don't know the exact dimensions I will measure them and let you know.

-I used aircraft stripper to remove the clear coat on my wheels, and I am working on polishing them right now... 3 down, 1 to go! They will be fine without clear coat, they will slowly tarnish but definitely not in one day. I polished a set of VW P-Slots last summer and they have only been re-buffed a couple times since then and still look great. If you keep up with a polishing schedule then it'll be fine.

Hope this helps,

David

Thanks a lot man. Apparently there is a newer center cap style, where the emblem isnt recessed like on the older ones. I'm still not sure whether it has stickers or real emblems... I JUST WANT BBS CENTER CAPS!!!
Oh well. I'm gonna toy with my spare once I get a new one. I'll post pics once I'm through.
