I'm sick of the chrome lip on my wheels... I want like a very dark-gray chrome look. is there an easy way to do this?

Sand them down, prime, and paint.

Sand, prep, primer, paint.
Or drop them off at a powder coating shop.

Just felt like I needed to post in this momentous thread.
As far as dyeing metal, you might wanna try paint . . .

Hahahahha, you can't dye chrome. Nothing sticks very well to chrome so you have to either get get it chemically stripped or sandblasted or a combination of the two and start from there. They you can polish/anodize, powdercoat, paint, etc.
And to all the guys saying sand it down, have you even tried sanding down chrome:eyecrazy?

Chrome plating is ridiculously hard and takes some really gritty sandpaper to break down, it's not something you would want to sand off wheels.

The reason chrome was originally used is for its abrasion resistance, among other things.

Aren't those ASA AR1s? If so, that's a machined lip with a clear coat...

This is the process that my rim repair/refinisher hates the most and he charges me extra to do this.
