anyone put angel eyes/halos on an e34 M5, particularly a 91 M5? on ebay some auctioneers say that a plastic lens is required. what does that mean? anyone know?

If you have US spec lights or US ellipsoids, you can't mount the AE's inside the headlight housing, so you will have to mount the AE's in front of the lights, and thus you will need plastic covers to protect them (very ugly). If you want to do it right, get euro ellipsoids and mount them inside the housing

just want to confirm.....I have a set of euro smoked coming from a friend in germany. I can open these up and put AE's in them. Is this correct???

Probably. But which ones on ebay are you looking at.
I make 90% of them and I'd hate to see one of the lesser iterations on such a fine car.

No these are not from eBay they are coming from hella in germany. There are the smoked euro ellipsoids but I believe that I need adaptors for plug n play. Let me know if its possible to AE these lights

if they are euro ellipsoids
you will have no problem putting ae's in as the lens
on euro's are replaceable and comes off wit ease
compared to us ellipsoids which is a real pain to remove since they are glued on to the housing.
