Hi,

Have a 2006 330i with the black dakota leather package. Just wondering what parts of the interior are leather besides the seats and should be cleaned with leather cleaner vs. regular interior plastic cleaner. Will leather cleaner and conditioner harm the plastic if you get it on there accidently when cleaning the seats etc ?

Is it ok to just wipe down the interior (besides leather areas) with a damp cloth with regular water to clean all the interior surfaces.....I don't like greasy, shiny treatment stuff like armour all.

Thanks.

For the non-leather interior parts, many folks (including me) like 303 Aerospace Cleaner and 303 Aerospace Protectant. The Protectant leaves a satin, non-greasy, clean-looking finish.

Remember that the parts that are rarely touched don't need to be CLEANED, just dusted - dash, window sills, etc. You only need to CLEAN things like armrests, steering wheel, dash controls, etc - that is, just parts that get touched. You can put the Protectant on everything, though; it has a UV blocker which will help guard against UV degradation.

For very dirty surfaces, a cleaner will probably be better than just plain water, since you might have to scrub very aggressively if you don't use a cleaner of some sort.

For delicate surfaces, mix in a little Woolite with your water.

For hard matte plastic surfaces like the dead pedal, plastic seat base trim, door sill trim, etc, I like a damp Mr Clean Magic Eraser. But don't use it on leather, glossy surfaces, or paint.

I've read that the 303 products can often be found at marine/boating places, though I just order online.

The Mr Clean Magic Eraser can be found at grocery stores, supermarkets, wal-mart, home improvement stores.

Forgot to mention this earlier, I like the Swiffer duster & sheets for dusting, again found at grocery stores, supermarkets, wal-mart, etc.
