Hey guys,
It's that time of the year for many of us on this forum - time to change to summer tires- finally!
I got my CPO 2006 325 in January so naturally it came with 16" wheels and winter tires. My question is in relation to tire size for 18" rims - am I OK to go by the specifications provided on tirerack for the 330 sport package as it comes with 18's?
Tirerack is suggesting:
Front: 225/40/18
Rear: 255/35/18
I'm looking at the 335 replica wheels from Replica wheels Canada (RWC). They look like a great OEM tim, I got a deal of $200/Rim from a local retailer.
Thanks!

make sure they have compatible offsets.

I would keep an eye out for actual OEM rims that ppl sell all the time. They normally cost roughly the same, maybe a bit more, but you are getting OEM quality along with it

The Rims from BMW are approx $3,000 - there is no way I am paying that.
I have seen the OEM Rims and they look great, as far as wear and tear is concerned I'm not 100% sure how they will hold up - but for the price I'm willing to find out. Besides - I am not a "curb scratcher" :nono
The wheels are the Concave 7 spoke that comes on the sport pack for the 335. I've seen a few guys on the forum that have these rims on their 325's and they look great.
Offsets on the new rims are 38 MM and the service rep from Magwood & Johnston is advising that 225/40/18 are fine for front and rear - the rear wheels won't look "tucked". You guys agree with this?

^ Did you read that?
If they're OEM, or OEM reps, they'll fit with the correct offsets.

Thanks - yes I did read that.
I've looked everywhere for OEM's that ppl are selling. no luck on local kijiji, craigslist, etc. Haven't seen anyone on the forum in my area selling either.
www.replicawheelscanada.com (http://www.replicawheelscanada.com) - my choice is between the BM26 and the BM33. I wanted the BM32 but they consider this a winter rim and it won't be in until September... My car is black on black with 35% tints. What do you guys think?

Keep in mind that 18" with low profile tires are a lot more easier to curb even when you are careful. No one can be more anal than me when parking and I already have 2 that are curbed and the other 2 slightly scratched on the face when I dropped them during winter storage :(.

bummer that you dropped them - ouch!
I went into a large shop today - they actually had a set of bmw factory 18's pulled of a 330 coupe. The guy bought the car and immediately took it to the shop to get M3 rims. The shop bought them from him for cheap I imagine. He would give them to me with low profile tires (offset) installed, balanced and taxes in for $1,780 . sounds like a good deal, but I'm cheap and want to find a better deal :D

Landis,
I'll seriously consider that - the shipping by fedex ground would be $272 according to their detailed quoting tool. I guessed at 4 boxes 25' x 25' x 12' weighing 40lbs each.
You have pics?

see there you go! Its always a better idea to find used OEM wheels if you want to keep an OEM look. Only time I would go aftermarket is if you were looking for something different or lighter (like I am).

I'll get pictures for you this weekend. They are stored in the barn and are burried behind all the snows. I have to move a lot of stuff the get to them. The wheels have no cosmetic blemishes and the tire are in good shape with wear equal to their mileage. I don't park next to curbs so no chance of curb rash.
