I am sad and sorry to say that after much thought - I think it is better to part out Elaine - my 1994 BMW 530i Touring. It has a broken / jammed sunroof, needs a paint job badly and currently does not run - the Crank Position Sensor is the suspect on this one. There are however a ton of great parts on the car. Like the OBC, OEM radio, trim pieces, tail gate, bumpers, headlamps, etc.

There is no rust on the car, so the body panels are sound. I will begin posting a list of the available parts soon. Some people had expressed interest in parts from this car even before I decided to part it - so a couple of things may be gone already.

I will be doing this sale with another member - jose4261 - you may have bought parts from him before.

There are also other parts available like spare head rests which do work on the rear bench, 540i ducts, map lights, spare sunroof motor, etc. We plan to offer the parts at bargain prices so we don't have to hold on to the car too long.

Please take a look at some pictures of the car in this link. I will try to get some newer pictures soon.

I thought Jose was going to buy it? Why not put a sensor into it and see if it fires up? Shame to part out a no rust/accident Touring.

He was initially, but we talked and it would take more than just getting the car running to fully restore it.

They are part of the rear seat back. We would need to dismantle the seat. I will get back to you on that.

I will check for you. But please note, one has a crack in it from road pebbles or something.

You should try and get it running, at least try and sell it whole. By the way, your title says 540 not 530.

The roof rails on Elaine are going to Heidi.

Crap on the Title! I don't think I can change it... silly error. No point trying to get it started. It is more useful to more people this way too.

Mike the cargo nets just slide off the backs of the seats. No dismantling necessary.

Sure - $30?

I actually got them from Louie, dunno if it considered complete, but there are the two pieces you bolt them to the bumper... same as he did his own.

Louie - Unless you have a back seat with the piece that receives the rolled nets - then you do have to disassemble.

What? Getting rid of a car because of a bad CPS? FFS, I have two of them just for spares in my toolbox... I'll yell at you proper when I head to the city :)

LOL! Not just because of that. When you put it all together, there is the sunroof, the mileage and potential trany failure, then you still have to paint.

This way serves a great good.

So you are going to get rid of 1 or 1200 of these imported into the US, because there are a few minor things going on with it...HMMM...well whatever that will make mine even that much more sought after.

I was kidding Michael! I'm also interested in the cargo net if nothing pans for the other folks in line ahead of me...

And tool kit is probably the kit in the hatch for JakeB.

Louie - Unless you have a back seat with the piece that receives the rolled nets - then you do have to disassemble.

Doesn't matter which rear seats you got, they fit all tourings, those tourings which doesn't have the net just has a black cover that slides into place.

So they don't need any disassemble, if you do not mean the 4 hooks in the roof, which are 1 screw each to mount down.
Just wanted to add that so you don't find yourself dissasembling anything that doesn't require it and waste valuefull time :)

^^For sure^^
In the rustbelt we drool over your over a car having only mechanical issues. It's the rustbuckets that deserve to be dismantled.
Elaine? Farmer's rule; If you name it you can't kill it.

Depending on what I end up finding at the local pick-n-pull tomorrow, I may be interested in the hood, grill assemblies, and the two headlight surrounds. How much for that set picked up?
