Mike,

Great video! One of my coworkers yesterday was just asking how to use detailing clay, this video will help him a lot.

Any comment on the common practice of cutting/breaking the clay bar into several smaller pieces? I was surprised you didn't do this.

If you break it up before you start, you can use a brand-new piece of clay for every panel or section, instead of carrying each section's contaminants to the next section.

Also, IMO it's easier to control a small piece of clay, and best of all, if you drop it you don't have to discard your whole clay bar, just that small piece.

Actually it's a great idea to break a 100 Gram bar of clay into two pieces, in the video we should have mentioned this but for visual impact it came across better using the entire clay bar for filming live.

It's a lot harder to make a video than most people thing but here's a little bit of what we would have had to do in order to show splitting the clay into two pieces,

Add all the dialog, including explaining why to do this, then what to do with the other piece and then taking the half-piece and kneading it into a patty and then doing the rest of the video.

It would have worked but visually on camera the half piece didn't look as good while kneading it, forming it into a patty, using it to clay and then turning it over and showing the camera.

Most experienced people understand to save some money AND because you don't need a THICK clay patty you just need A clay patting, (thin will do), that they split their clay bar into two pieces and after a Newbie to claying thinks about it for a few minutes or even clays a few times they will figure it out also.

Most of the videos will make, not all but most have to be able to talk to someone that has never done the thing we're showing, so one goal is to KISS that is Keep it Simple Simon.

The other thing is Pro's, people that do this for money or have been doing this a long time already know all or most of this information so they don't really need to watch a video on the topic.

But good points and in our next claying video we'll be sure to add a few more minutes to cover this aspect as well as the part about if you drop it then you're only out half a piece and not an entire pieces.

Thank you for the constructive feedback (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/tips-techniques-how-articles-interacting-discussion-forums/24334-tip-giving-constructive-feedback.html).
