Leather and center console film?

I just purchased a BMW 325 Ci it has great interior and was doing some cleaning and noticed on my front 2 seats anc denter consol when i cleaned them with just water the color of the seat came off on my rag and the same thing with the center consol. This did not happen on the rear seats... it looks like they dyed my seats or center consol to make it look better... I have noticed this with some other BMW's ive detailed in the past... Is this common?
