Hey guys!
I just found this forum while searching for a solution.

I've tried 3 different INPA releases so far and all have the same issue with my new car.
I start NCS-Expert, press F1 (Identification) F3 (Identification from controllers) and select one of the two E60 options.

It correctly reads the serial number but then directly stops and gives me an error, I think it was "Unvalid Mark" and a number.

I've coded my previous car (an E39) without any problems so it's not a real stupid newbie-error.
Now with my E60 I'm stuck and hope one of you might be able to help me.

I'll try coding again tomorrow (here in germany it is late) with the latest ncsexpert release I could find.
I'll make sure to report the exact error here.
it was just a tiny box, "unvalid mark xxxx"

Ok. Ill look here tomorrow for it.

Im running INPA 3 as I have the older cars. INPA 5 seems more geared to newer cars, and...from what David says, doesnt even have the capability to do older cars...

The problem is the "FA" value (Fahrzeugauftrag)
NCS expert does not understand the string.

The error:
"
Unvalid Mark-1
Unvalid Mark-2 #0305
"

The string:
E60_#0305*NB91%0A29&X2SW$1CA$216$261$302$319$356$403$415$416$423$428$4 30$431$442$453$459$473$494$496$4MA$4MF$502$508$522 $524$534$540$548$563$601$605$607$609$610$612$616$6 20$633$672$677$698$737$785$801$851$863$879-A090

looks like I need a new version, 2008 or 2009.
It would be great if anyone could help me ;/

Not sure which version of NCS you are using, but version 3.08 is around a 2004 version. So if your car is newer than 2004 some of the FA codes won't be in NCS. I have not seen a later version of NCS on the internet.

That is the Build Version of your car. I have the same issue. When I pull the FA of my 07 Z4 M, it says that the #0407 is not valid.... I'm sure that the software version is older than my car.... Chuck I
