Alright I've been thinking about possibly getting rid of my wing. I think on certain set ups, it's looks realllyyy smooth and clean, I just love it. But also on some, it just looks like it's lacking something. I'm just here looking for some opinions. My immediate plans are to of course lower the car, get my rockers and bumpers painted red. I'll be getting an m3 bumper, as well as kosei k1's. The car won't be completely slammed, but I'm giving it a half decent drop. I'm just wondering what you guys think it would kind of look like, if you can imagine it in your head. Thanks to all who help out :]

edit: I'll also be getting clear corners and tails

edit: I was wondering if anyone knew about how much it would cost to get the wing removed, or how I would go about doing so. What all would need to be done to get it completely removed? Once again, thanks to all who help out.

Lol I know man, I really do. Sadly, my money has been pulled elsewhere lately, so I haven't done any modding to my car. Not to mention I had to drop damn near a grand in getting my clutch replaced -_- fuckers really gave it to me hard. But spring is coming, and finally my money has freed up a bit, so it's time to give this hellrot some love. I'm just hoping it doesn't look like it's kinda bare without the wing. Most look amaaziing, but I've seen a few that just kinda looked off, if you guys know what I'm talking about. I guess we'll find out :]

de-badging it and removing the dealer stickers would definitely clean the rear end up a bit for the time being. But my suggestion would be to wait until you throw the suspension, wheels and bumpers on before taking it off. You might end up liking it more once things start coming together.

I say keep it.
I like the stock wings and i feel like your car can't pull of the bare trunk just yet.
IIRC its only stuck to the trunk with double sided tape so im assuming you'd just have to peel it off and use something to clean the residue off the trunk

To the people who say to keep it for now, I am definitely going to do that until all my other mods come together. I know if i took it off now, there's no WAY it would look right to me, it would be "bare" as i said before. I feel the only way to really make it look smooth as I want, is for it to be lowered with the rims I want, I think then it'll look nice and smooth. I'm definitely going to take off the dealer tags, but I don't think I'm gonna de-badge it. What would be the best way to take off the dealer stickers though?

If it's oem it should be bolted on in addition to the double sided tape.

What would be the best way to take off the dealer stickers though? Some kind of auto solvent (something like goo gone) and plastic razers. I've had to clay bar to get the remaining residue off a couple times as well. Just make sure you don't use any chemicals that will hurt the paint.

This.

Edit: if you still don't like the wing after mods just buy buy another deck lid. It'll be cheaper than filling the holes from the wing and paint and you can sell the old one

Thanks! Do you know if I can pick up the goo gone stuff at like, autozone or something?

They sell that stuff EVERYWHERE. Literally any grocery store, CVS, Walgreens etc. should carry it and I think I've even seen it sold at some gas stations. The plastic razors can be a pita to find though, I'd look around at craft stores for those.

you can also use a stiff credit card instead of the plastic knife. a heat gun used properly is also very helpful.

Yeah, no problem.

Very true, though since they tend to be sharper the razors usually make the job much much easier and in turn wont need to be scraped as hard reducing the risk for scratches/gouges to the clear coat (I've accidentally done this before). Heat gun is also a good idea as long as your careful with it.

i feel the question "where do i get a heat gun?"...a hair dryer will do the trick

I say keep it for now. Depending on the future of the car and hwo many mods you do to it, it could eventually look really good on your car. It would suck to take it off and then have to put it back on in the future if you wanted it. I honestly dont like that wing at all but with certain mods it could look very clean and nice.

Edit: just looked at some pics and that spoiler would look great if you got an M bumper and painted the lowers.

you mean motorsport history, yeah dude, those are definately out of place :shifty

i think the wing looks fine but if you want to take it off the only thing youd have to worry about afterwards would be the paint. after cleaning up/waxing etc, the paint under the wing will no doubt look much brighter than the rest of the trunk, keep that in mind

Without the M bumper, that spoiler looks disproportionate.
Non-M bumper = No spoiler.
M bumper = Spoiler.

The car has potential.
I prefer the non-M bumpers myself, if the car is not an M.

I think it will look good de-winged or with the wing once your mods are done. It would be cool if you could devise something to plug the bolt holes with and paint it red so you could put it on or take it off in case you want to switch it up a little. You could also, if you definitely don't want it just find someone who has a red car that wants the wing and swap trunks. It will be harder but definitely possible.
