Budget kit from understeer.com is good and inexpensive.

You can do what i did and purchase the M3/328 shift lever (PN: 25-11-1-221-977) which provides nearly a 1/3 reduction in lever travel. Then replace all the shift bushings. About $50 for the lever at the $tealer. can't remember.

IIRC, the Z3 1.9 lever reduces the throw more than the M3 one.

I did the same thing, found a used M3 lever on the forum from a cool member, only had to pay shipping. Then I installed a Sparco knob and trimmed the top of the lever so the boot fit into the knob correctly. It is awesome!

Hmm I didn't know that one. Cool. The only other one i have heard of is using the M roadster lever in the M3/328 (requires i bit of bending for proper fitment).

No bending needed for the 95 318is. It is NOTICEABLY shorter. My buddy with an e46 is very jealous.

Get a kit from BMA. Cheap. Easy to fit and nice shifting
