Hey guys, I have a question.
I have an imola '01 e39 M5, and am looking for where to get some replacement lights for the angel eyes. I took a look at the light, and it looks like its not only a bulb, but the holder for the bulb that also needs to be replaced. Since my car is Imola, and I've got red interior lights already, I'd like to continue the theme and get red angel eyes. Has anyone ever bought these before?
thanks for you help
Something like this? ... I did it with a red filter ... there is a little bulb that lights up the angel eyes, take it out, insert the filter and put the bulb back in.

also, do they show up pretty bright during the day? I don't really want them to look pink, cuz i'm not down wit that ahha.. the one's I saw on the E46 M3 we're really bright and a darkish red, they would be pretty bright during the day too.
Thank you!

For bulb replacement you need to break the plastic welds to get at the bulb. Its a 10W bulb, and I know someone who replaced it with a 20W one without any problems after 1 year of use. The bulb can be bought at your local marine shop. Yes its a bulb widely used on boats.

If you do a search on this board for "angel eye bulbs", you can probably find the thread with the part number of the 20W bulb and the place to order them.
However, I think that the guy that did this was not that impressed with the improvement in lighting.
To change the color of your AE, all that need to do is pull out the bulb and cover it with something - the color that you like. You do not need to break anything or replace the bulbs that light the AE.
I couldn't get away with that here in Finland - the police would be all over the Fast and the Furious look ...
