Clay Bar, or tar and bug remover (re-wax after tar remover). If they have been on for some time, their guts, which contain acid, can erode your clear coat. Make sure you get them off ASAP.

My usual procedure is, when washing the car, thoroughly soak the front end with water when I start. Keep it wet throughout the washing process, and wash the front bumper last. That way, by the time you get to the places where the bugs are the worst, they have had time to soak, which will make 'em easier to remove.

As mentioned below, a clay bar will take off any bits that don't easily come off with the wash.

Then, make sure to keep it freshly sealed and/or waxed, so the bugs slide off easily at future washes.

This.

Especially in the southeast, where the acidic splatters from lovebugs will deeply etch your paint in a day or two, if left unwashed.
