Hello Folks,
As we cross the 60-day out threshold, I'm hard at work trying to coordinate the new house as well as Southeast Sharkfest. Everything is going as scheduled which is a nice change of pace from the events surrounding the earlier planning. *whew!* We have not confirmed 100% yet, but depending on our finances this year, we are going to try to have a catered hors de'vours session on Friday (similar to '06 for those who remember).
I'm working on some graphics designs for the shirt and I think we'll have something very nice this year. As an added bonus, on Saturday we will be having a Panoramic photo taken in front of the Zentrum. For those of you who has seen Benjamin Porter's panoramics, you know it's a wonderful thing to have hanging in your house (I have two from the years he did them). What better backdrop for our wonderful e24 (and others) than the Zentrum and the BMW factory!
In regards to the hotel: we are both nearing our reservations block limit AND deadline for our contract with the Hyatt. We have a limited rooms this year, and unlike 2006, we do not have the hotel to ourselves. There are two other groups that will be occupying the hotel this year and once our block is gone, it will be gone for good. I had to work hard for this rate so please PLEASE take advantage of it and make your reservations today!!!
The link to our reservations page is:
https://resweb.passkey.com/Resweb.do?mode=welcome_ei_new&eventID=2490208
We have contracted rooms for Thursday, April 30th, through Monday May 3rd. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email me at kai@bmwsharkfest.org (http://us.mc593.mail.yahoo.com/mc/compose?to=kai@bmwsharkfest.org) at any time!
Best Regards,
Kai Xing
Nat Arnold
...And the Entire Southeast Sharkfest 2010 Crew!!!"

Grr, I may be sharkless this year. 60 days is not much time to get my car ready. May have to default to Jason's M5.

Not registered yet. Anyone want to possibly split the cost of a room. Still need to give the 6 a good going over. It did recently survive a 9 hour trip only to have a dead battery upon arrival. Voltage regulator died. Timing couldn't have been better. Could have happened on the open road.

It's almost a waste of money to be in the room alone. With all the activities that go on during the weekend you're really only there to sleep & shower. DJ & I had a room last year, but I don't know if he'll make it this year. Joe Cautela (Joe Cat) & I split the cost another year. Too bad he left the 6er scene for something newer. It can be an expensive weekend & just trying to shave the cost of that expenditure.

Dave, I may be interested in splitting. I'm doing some new job seeking and may be situated (hopefully) by then and of course will hopefully have the time off.

Hey Jody, that would be great. I've been unable to get my wife to come along to any SESF. All I have to do is mention anything car related & her reponse is immediately "NO". I know plenty of wifes/girlfriends have no problem attending this event with their S.O.. I need to get crackin' on this new to me 87 635. I know already it's been well maintained, but still need to check her out. It's a long drive.

I'm quite sure my 88 that I bought form Jeff B will make it. It made it from Nevada to RI to his house last summer and it's been reliable since I've had it (Aug). My plan was to do the 5 spd conversion before then. Hope I can still fit it in.
It's always nice if one's SO can do the trip but if not, I say it's a nice time to just be one of the guys for the three days. And for the gals that come down, they can be one of the "guys" too.

Planning on going, but still need to register and book a room. I'd split a room to save a few dollars for sure.

You'd be surprised - Plus hooking up with the Winchester Wagon Train would give you some skilled hands to assist. Also, coming Sharkless isn't nearly as bad as you think (I've done it twice), though it does motivate you to return with one...

If your 6er is running & there's no serious issues, go for it. Just caravan with the group & you'll be fine. Everybody carries some parts & the combined experience of your entourage will get you rolling again. These cars love the open road.

Would love to go, but its just too far. Plus, its in the school year.
The geographic center of the US is near Lebanon, KS. Anything SE of that would be considered SESF....for future planning... :)

Room booked, registered, can't wait. Just need a car. Which one will I get back first? Black 83 or the Red 88? Which one should I bring?

Should be a pretty large crew going down 64/77 to Greenville/Spartanburg (10-15 cars)

Your 88 is ready for pickup, & the tan does look better than the grey. I need to start looking at my 87 now. Shouldn't take much, but the car is still new to me & I need to get familiar with it.
