Hey guys I just bought my first BMW on Monday, its a 1997, 318i, Sedan.
The car was keyed on the driver side door and fender, I am wondering what the best way to get rid of the scratches is.
Touch up paint?
Is there anything else I can do?
Also on the trunk lid the paint is pretty oxidized, and the clear coat is flaking off.
Should have a professional wet sand it for me or something?
How much would this cost?

Sorry but if the clear is flaking off, you will need that area repainted.

Yeah that's kind of what I expected, any way to make it look a little better until I get some money for paint and body?
I'll get some pics up tonight to show you guys exactly what I mean.

Here are some pictures of what I'm talking about.
Would a paint pen be ok for the scratches?
I'm eventually going to strip off the old clear coat on the truck and re-clearcoat it

That's not oxidation... it's clear coat failure. It cannot be fixed, it can only be repainted.
See this article,

Yeah that's what I thought, no big deal there are scratches everywhere anyways.

You aren't going to re-clearcoat, you're going to have to repaint. If you can spend the time to strip all the trim, clean/sand/prep, you can probably get a local paint shop to shoot it for cheap. The prep work is often what puts the big $$$ in the price tag.
