Any one ever rebuild one of these?
I've got a donor one and the 2nd gear syncro is bad.
I've got as far as getting the rear case open about 3/4 open but am stumped as to where to go from here...

I've read about something called "webTIS" but cant find anything else on it...

If I remember correctly, Getrag does not provide any replacement parts as they don't allow refurb units. Rebuild jobs would have to go to a specialist for sure.

get the Bentley E28 manual. This one shows how to R&R the Getrag 265/5 and 260/6.

My understanding is that the cost of the synchros and special tools required make buying a good used trans a much cheaper option. Check Metric mechanic to see what their rebuilt units go for. $$$$$

Well I do have a few in's at local shops, one of which is a bmw shop and the dealership so tools wise I'm not really worried.
I've never done this before so it is a learning experience. I just wish I could find the e28 bentley manual online to guide me

Sucess! Turns out I had an E28 Bentley Manual buried in my garage! It has a full write up on manual transmission overhaul. I'll be picking up the gear puller this afternoon!
Hopefully I can make some progress over the next few weeks/months as this is just a side project!
