Well I thought I would shout out to a product that I really am happy with so far...

This little camera is very small... roughly 2x3x1 this little gem does the job. I bought it straight from the GoPro website for $299.00 and it records in a bunch of different modes and can shoot in full 1080p.
It also can do slowmo, and time lapse photography. It is fully water proof etc. etc... if you want to read more check out GoProCamera.com
Personal Experience...
Basically, I was stunned by all the "testimonial" footage and bought it on impulse. When It arrived, it came in a great little package. Out of the box I quickly read the manual to set it up properly.
At first, the Wind noise was horrid. I was thinking that they totally scammed everyone with their "examples" frustrated I tried a few things and it didn't seem to help. Getting hold of someone from GoPro was difficult, but I think they are just extremely busy as they did respond and kept responding thereafter...
I had asked them for some advice on the wind noise issue I was having and their response was,
Hi Brody
If you do not need the camera to be waterproof, we definitely recommend using the open back housing on the camera. This allows more of the "good noise" to reach the microphone (i.e. exhaust).
Positioning on the car will also play a role, though it is hard to say where the best position will be since cars all have such different aerodynamics. Another thing that will play a role is how the camera is mounted. If it is mounted way out on the extension arm, the noise from the mount cutting through the air will be picked up by the microphone.
Please let us know how it goes.
Many thanks,
GoPro Support
They confirmed my suspicions so I gave it a whirl. Still I have to play with placement but I am no longer worried about wind noise. I will post an exterior video soon, what I have right now is all in the dark and low light kind of sucks with this camera.
Here is a short clip from the Interior of my car on the way to work this morning.
The lighting is washed out as I still have to learn the different settings for spot metering, evaluative etc etc.
