Parts for that car are $$$ and sometimes hard to come by.
And even with blizzaks, I just prefer not to drive in bad conditions. My car naps until several days after the snow is plowed and streets are cleared and it warms up.

The car is being looked at by an adjuster/appraiser today.
Interestingly enough, a friend of mine had a similar accident and the insurance told him that if they fixed it with OEM panels, it would be totaled. He had them replace the panels with carbon fiber panels instead and the car was NOT totaled.
And yes, the 500 is definitely fun to drive. Much faster than a 540. Better looking IMO. AND it has that big goddamn star in the grill that screams get outta my way.
EDIT: Going to the Hospital after classes to get some X-Rays and meds. My neck is killing me, and my back is all outta whack.

No idea of speed at time of impact. I was going 30 when I lost it, but the rear wheels went nuts and the speedo went up to like 60 something when traction broke. No accurate idea of speed at time of impact. I can only guess.

AP2's are softer and not so razor's edge.
The MBZ is extremely soft when compared to the AP1 however it excels in comfort and its incredible triple digit power. Punch it at 100 and watch the horizon come at you.

The R129 is about as solid a car as it gets. It also has a masterpiece of a V8 under the hood. The M119 5.0 is a 32v quad cam aluminum block that makes 315hp and 347lbft of torque. (down low)
In 4-speed auto form it gets from 0-60 in 6.1 seconds and can hit the 1/4 in 14 flat (stock) @ 100mph. Lightly modded and they have broken into the 13s. The car is damn heavy at 4200 lbs, but its solid and still very quick for its vintage. With the top off, its a blast to drive.
I grew up around this car, and had a 1997 Sl500 with xenons and 18' Momo's in triple black of my own when I was in High School. I definitely have a soft spot for them and plan on driving this one for a looooooong time.
