HKS Performance
HKS' Sport Exhaust Systems are designed to reduce backpressure and increase exhaust flow for greater peak power and a broader torque band. Each Sport Exhaust application utilizes a specific muffler design and shape along with the appropriate piping diameter to maintain low-end torque while maximizing high-end horsepower. It is dyno proven to give anywhere from 8 to 15 horsepower to the crank, depending on other mods you already have on your E46.
HKS Construction and Sound Quality
Easily considered one of the highest quality, most complete performance systems on the market. Not just an axle-back rear muffler system. Constructed using full stainless steel, mandrel bent tubing sized larger than stock for decreased backpressure and increase exhaust flow. The HKS system uses dual resonators for a clean sound with no backpressure increase, and merges the exhaust into a single 70-75mm pipe for increased scavenging and balanced pipe pressures. Exhaust gases exit through dual burnished titanium 65mm tips for an ultra-premium look.
The sound can be described as a mellow burble that is subtle under partial throttle and normal cruising, meaning no drone on the highway and no nasty looks from bystanders or the local authorities.
